My life journey is a testament to the human spirit's capacity for resilience, healing, and transformation. As a teenager, I carried the weight of intergenerational mother wounds, bullying, narcissistic abuse, spiritual abuse and manipulation from false gurus and leaders, job loss and divorce. These experiences could have defined me, but instead, they fuelled my determination to reprogram my subconscious mind and build a newly found self-identity and strength. At the age of 18, I left home in attempt to escape the trauma.
My healing journey did not begin with clarity. It began with fragmentation—the quiet loss of self-identity rooted in childhood trauma and reinforced by years of conditioned behaviour. When betrayal and spiritual manipulation entered my adult life, it did not break me; it activated my heart. Pain has a way of doing that when it reaches the soul's threshold. What followed was not collapse, but awakening.
In South Africa, we are taught early what success is supposed to look like: titles, status, survival. We inherit the belief that struggle is our default setting and that suffering is either a curse or a life sentence. For a long time, I wore those beliefs like a second skin—until my life asked me to choose something deeper than prestige: purpose.
Trauma does not always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it hides in productivity, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. I built a professional life of more than 22 years in Transformation and Diversity, contributing meaningfully while carrying unspoken wounds. On the outside, I was competent and accomplished. Inside, I was exhausted, burned out from living a life shaped by inherited survival patterns rather than authentic truth.
This exhaustion was compounded by the quiet strength it took to parent alone. Healing while being a single mother meant navigating seasons of profound loss—loss of self-identity, loss of financial income, and the emotional isolation that comes with holding everything together when there is no safety net. Yet it was precisely in these moments that my resilience was forged. Motherhood did not delay my awakening; it deepened it. I was not only healing for myself, but for the lineage moving forward through my child.
The root causes of burnout, chronic stress, and even poverty are rarely individual failures. They are generational. In South Africa, many of us are born into nervous systems trained for endurance. We are conditioned to push through pain, normalize scarcity, and confuse suffering with strength. But endurance without awareness becomes self-abandonment.
In our cultural narrative, suffering is often framed as something to escape or endure. I came to understand it differently. Energy is the true currency of the world, and suffering is an invitation—to transmute pain into power, and power into purpose.
My journey unfolded through blind faith. Not blind as in passive, but blind as in trusting what I could not yet see. I followed a lucid dream. I stopped long enough to listen—to the whispers of God, or Source, whichever language resonates with you. Guidance does not shout; it whispers.
Spirit instructed me to live close to the ocean in Cape Town. I obeyed without a logical roadmap. There, seven years of scribbled trauma were unpacked—journals filled with grief, rage, forgiveness, and truth. What emerged was integration: lived experience fused with professional insight, pain transformed into wisdom.
Prestige promises safety. Purpose demands truth. One looks impressive, the other changes lives. This understanding reshaped not only my personal life, but my work in business and leadership. The same childhood behavioural patterns that shape our intimate relationships also show up in boardrooms—fear of authority, conflict avoidance, over-functioning, self-sabotage, and scarcity thinking.
When individuals are empowered to unpack where these behaviours were learned, businesses do not just perform better—they become healthier ecosystems. Walking change in South Africa means choosing consciousness over conditioning. It means recognising that healing is not separate from economic empowerment—it is foundational to it.
The defining highlight of my healing journey was discovering the power of quantum healing where science and spirituality intersect. I accessed trauma stored in the amygdala from an experience that happened when I was just two years old—there was no prior conscious memory, yet the body remembered. The nervous system held the imprint of lost safety and fractured security.
Unlocking this organically changed everything. It revealed how early childhood trauma shapes identity, and how the absence of safety quietly informs self-worth, ambition, relationships, and leadership in adulthood. When safety is disrupted early, we unconsciously build identities around survival. When safety is restored, we build identities around truth.
This is what it truly means to walk change: to live as evidence that pain can be alchemised, that identity can be reclaimed, and that purpose will always trump prestige when the soul and the nervous system are finally ready to lead.
Today, as a sought-after Transformation Leader, Emotional Healing Expert, and Soulful Entrepreneur, I integrate science, trauma research, and consciousness work to guide others through their own reclamation process. My work is not theoretical. It is lived. It is embodied. It is proven.
